Nicole Chase is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (c), and a National Board for Certified Counselors Certified Counselor. The owner and founder of Winnecook Shores, LLC, Nicole has worked in her own private practice since 2022. Nicole joined the advisory board for the Maine Mental Health Counselors Association in 2022 as a student member, and is currently President Elect. Nicole is a trauma-informed counselor who utilizes a client-centered approach that recognizes the client as the expert of their own experience. Nicole facilitates client growth at their own pace. Nicole is trained in Somatic Experiencing, Nature-Based Interventions and Treatment, and Motivational Interviewing. Nicole has experience working with individuals of all ages, having worked as a counselor in the K-12 school setting, skilled nursing facility, group agency, and private practice. Nicole resides in Northern Maine where her passions include hiking, camping, hunting, gardening, snowshoeing, and skiing.
Jeri Stevens, PhD, LCPC, CCS

Jeri W Stevens, owner of Chandler Bay Resources, is a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor,
and counselor educator from Maine. Beyond her 45 plus years as a psychotherapist, Jeri is an
assistant professor and clinical coordinator in the graduate counseling programs at Husson
University, provides supervision for school counselors, mental health clinicians and social
workers, facilitates ethics trainings through associations and mental health agencies, provides
stress resilience training and coaching, as well, delivers organizational leadership consultation
and training. And in her spare time, she provides mindfulness sports performance training to elite
athletes and travels around the country in her RV.
Logan McCarthy, PhD, LCPC, NCC, ACS

Logan received his PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of the Cumberlands, MA in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, and BA in Psychology from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Logan currently serves as a core faculty and assistant professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program for the Department of Counselor Education and Family Studies at Liberty University. Logan is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maine, National Certified Counselor, and Approved Clinical Supervisor. Prior to becoming a full-time faculty member at Liberty University, Logan provided counseling services in a variety of programs. In Logan’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, watching sports, and reading.
Shawn Graham, PhD, LCPC, BC-TMH

Shawn completed his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with a concentration in Advanced Counseling. He is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Board Certified-Telemental Health Provider (BC-TMH) and certified as a Disaster Behavioral Health Responder with the State of Maine.
Shawn has been working in the behavioral health field for over 25 years and maintains a small clinical practice and works as an Associate Professor of Counseling at the University of Maine at Fort Kent (UMFK). Shawn is the Unit Chair of the Behavioral Science program and currently serves as the Faculty Chair at UMFK. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, fishing, and being outdoors.
Liz Szilagyi, LCPC, LCMHC

Liz has been counseling since 2006 in various capacities & has been in private practice since 2015. She has been licensed with NH since 2015 and ME since 2020. She enjoys working with all people with varying presentations and needs. Her practice is primarily focused in helping folks holistically. She teaches people how to reduce stress/stimulation through expanding our growth mindset, reinforcing parasympathetic language, building & maintaining healthy self-perceptions, living intentionally through meaning, Logotherapy.
Alexander Katopis, LCPC, ACS, NCC, CMTH, CADC, MHRT-C

Specializes in individual, family, and group work. Has a genuine passion and interest in rendering and receiving ongoing clinical supervision and gravitates toward utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities within the cognitive, humanistic, constructivist, and systemic counseling philosophies. Enjoys participating in interdisciplinary, multicultural, trauma-informed, and collaborative education and learning environments.
Jordan Shaw, LCPC, NCC

Jordan is the Clinician on the Augusta campus of the University of Maine at Augusta. He holds a Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Southern Maine and a Master of Divinity from Bangor Theological Seminary. In addition to serving on MeMHCA’s Board of Directors he serves on the Executive Board for Camp Mechuwana: The United Methodist Camp of Maine and the advisory council for Center’s of Moral Courage. In his free time, in addition to volunteering, he enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, cycling, and music.
Lisa Lavoie, PhD, MAIS, LCPC, CADC, CRC

Lisa is an Assistant Professor of Behavioral Science at the University of Maine at Fort Kent; she is a LCPC in private practice. She recently completed her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of the Cumberlands. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys reading mystery fiction, walking, and spreading awareness of the singularity of her native St. John Valley, which is the primary subject of her master’s thesis in interdisciplinary studies.
Genevieve Morgan

I graduated with a dual major in English and Religion from Bowdoin College and have been an active author and editor for over 25 years, living in NYC, San Francisco, and moving back Maine (where my family is from) 20 years ago. I raised my family here, helped to found and run The Telling Room, a creative writing center in Portland for kids, was a teen mentor, wrote several published books, and am the freelance fiction and memoir editor at Islandport Press. I pivoted into graduate school more recently and am interested in opening a private practice next fall specializing in psychodynamic analytical and expressive arts therapies (including life review and narrative) with a special interest in helping people with life-altering medical and/or psychiatric diagnoses find satisfaction, integration, and hope in the face of struggle, and am experienced working with teens and young adults struggling to launch. I hope to bring my curiosity, intelligence, and humility to my clients and to this Board, and am honored to be a late arrival to this ever-evolving and necessary field.
Megan Lancaster

Megan received her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts. She is currently a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 10 years of clinical experience. Megan has worked in a variety of clinical capacities and settings including inpatient hospitalization, primary care practices, outpatient therapy, crisis intervention, consultation and supervisory roles. She is currently serving as a Clinical Director of an agency that provides residential services to clients with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Sarah McVivar, MS, MBA, LCPC, LADC

Sarah is a mental health clinician who received her MS in Co-occurring Disorders Recovery Counseling from Metropolitan State University. Sarah draws on experience working across the continuum of care in intensive outpatient (IOP), outpatient and community-based settings with individuals with a wide range of co-occurring substance use and other mental health disorders. Prior to becoming a therapist, Sarah served as a Recovery Navigator and Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) supporting people’s unique paths to recovery.
Michelle Theriault

Michelle graduated Cum Laude from Thomas College with a Bachelor Degree in Marketing Management.
She has been MeMHCA’s Administrative Assistant since 2003, minus a few-year hiatus. She also works for a nonprofit as the “Champion of Change,” aka the Communications Manager. Her favorite title, though, is Mimi (to her granddaughter).
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially on the water in the summer at her lake home. She also enjoys traveling with her husband, Joey.
Maeve Donnelly

Maeve Donnelly holds a B.A. in psychology and is fast approaching her final year in the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Southern Maine. Her passion for counseling emerged when she worked as a psychiatric technician at Spring Harbor Hospital. When not studying, she works full-time as one of the hundreds of committed service professionals in our vibrant restaurant industry in Portland, Maine. Maeve aspires to integrate her love for hospitality with mental health services, offering accessible and affordable counseling services for hospitality/restaurant employees and other members of the Maine community. Not one to sit idle, Maeve volunteers at MaineHealth food pantry and Best Buddies of Maine and manifests finds at Goodwill. When she rests, you will find her taking a sunset cruise on Casco Bay with her rescue dog, Heidi.
